I am currently a second year software engineering student at the University of Victoria. I graduated with honours from Belmont Secondary School. During highschool I took several computer science courses that I greatly enjoyed, which led me to pursue a career in software engineering. I have always liked problem solving and learning new things, which is why I enjoy programming. It’s an opportunity to invent creative solutions to problems and create something new that is useful to others.
At UVic I have taken several relevant programming courses, namely Fundamentals of Programming I and II, as well as Software Development Methods. During these classes we learned the programming basics such as data structures and objected oriented programming, and programmed in C, Java, and Python. I am currently taking Software Testing and Human Computer Interaction, which covers most aspects of software testing and UI/UX design.
I have completed one co-op term, doing full stack development for an Ebook online retailer. Through this co-op I gained experience with React, Remix, Redux, TailwindCSS, GraphQL and Ruby on Rails.
